Vanaheim

The homeland of the Vanir — the elder gods associated with fertility, nature, and the sea. Little is described about Vanaheim in the sources, but it is known as a place of great natural abundance. After the Aesir-Vanir War, the foremost Vanir — Njord, Freyr, and Freyja — were sent to Asgard as hostages, bringing their wisdom and magic with them. The exchange marked a lasting peace between the two divine clans.
