Realm of Men
Midgard
The world of humans, shaped from the body of the primordial giant Ymir. His flesh became the earth, his blood the seas, his bones the mountains, his hair the forests, and his skull the sky. Midgard is encircled by a vast ocean in which the Midgard Serpent Jormungandr rests. It is connected to Asgard via the rainbow bridge Bifrost. The name means "middle enclosure" — the inhabited realm at the centre of the Norse cosmos.
