Realm of Giants
Jotunheim
The homeland of the jötnar (giants) and rísir, separated from Midgard by vast forests and mountains. Here lies the fortress Utgard, ruled by Utgard-Loki. Many of the gods' greatest adventures take place in Jotunheim — Thor's expeditions, Odin's pursuit of wisdom, and Skadi's winter hunt. Despite being the realm of the gods' greatest adversaries, many gods have jötunn blood or take jötunn spouses.
