Urðr
Urðr (Old Norse: Urðr, "what was") is the eldest of the three great Norns and represents the past. She dwells with her sisters Verðandi and Skuld at the Well of Urðr (Urðarbrunnr) beneath Yggdrasil, where the Norns spin, weave, and cut the thread of fate for gods and mortals alike. The gods gather at this well daily to hold counsel beneath Yggdrasil.
