Names & Heiti

Ullr Uller
Ullr (Old Norse: Ullr) is the son of Sif and stepson of Thor. He is the god of hunting, skiing, archery, and winter — considered the finest archer and skier among the gods. Ullr dwells in Ýdalir (the Valley of Yew Trees). Place names across Scandinavia — particularly in Norway and Sweden — suggest that Ullr was far more significant in early Norse religion than the surviving literary sources indicate. Though scarcely mentioned in the great Eddic texts, he is likely a very ancient deity.
